When SPXFLOW in Aberdeen faced a potential health and safety issue at their Aberdeen base, they asked RJA Electrical to provide and implement a solution.
With personnel and forklift trucks operating in their yard, the fast arrival and departure of lorries and trucks gave management cause for concern. It was only a matter of time before a serious incident occurred.
Thankfully SPXFLOW contacted us before it was too late, and after a site visit to assess the problem, the answer was to install electronically controlled access barriers.
We supplied and installed electric barriers at the yard entry point. Now when visiting vehicles approach, the driver must push a button to request entry. Entry is granted by an operator in the workshop using a audio handset that allows them to remotely control and give entry. Once entry has been granted, the barriers will automatically lift for any departing visitor.
SPXFLOW staff were given remote key fobs, allowing them to enter and exit without the need to be granted access.
RJA Electrical used the Videx access control system with a CAME electric barrier, successfully combining two different systems to provide a best in class solution. Furthermore, we installed a HikVision CCTV system to give coverage of the yard and barrier.
The end result means that SPXFLOW now has greater control over who enters their yard, successfully slowing down vehicles on approach and providing a greater level of safety to their workers.
